What we insure

Coverage built specifically for spray foam contractors.

Standard contractor policies miss overspray exposure, exclude isocyanate claims, and treat your rig as an afterthought. We build programs designed for spray foam operations.

Essential coverage

General Liability Insurance

General liability is the foundation of every spray foam contractor's insurance program. We place GL that covers overspray damage, third-party bodily injury, completed-operations claims, and the product liability exposure that follows every spray foam job.

Explore coverage

Workers' Compensation

Spray foam work is high-hazard — chemical exposure, respiratory risk, heights, and equipment injuries. We place workers' comp with class codes that fit spray foam labor so your crew is covered and your premium reflects your actual operation.

Explore coverage

Inland Marine & Equipment

Your rig is your business. Inland marine coverage insures the proportioner, reactor, heated hose, spray guns, and the trailer or truck they ride in — against theft, vandalism, damage in transit, and breakdown on the jobsite.

Explore coverage

Commercial Auto

The truck or van hauling your spray foam rig to the job is a commercial vehicle — and it needs commercial auto, not personal auto. We insure the fleet that keeps your operation moving, including hired and non-owned auto for employees.

Explore coverage

Contractors Pollution Liability

Spray foam contains isocyanates — regulated chemicals that can trigger pollution exclusions in standard GL. Contractors pollution liability (CPL) covers the chemical-release and respiratory-exposure claims that fall outside standard policies.

Explore coverage

Commercial Umbrella

A single overspray or chemical-exposure claim can exceed primary GL limits. A commercial umbrella drops down over your GL, auto, and employers' liability to extend your coverage where a large claim might otherwise exceed policy limits.

Explore coverage

Tools & Small Equipment

Inland marine covers the rig; a tools-and-equipment floater covers the smaller gear — hand tools, gauges, cleaning equipment, and jobsite supplies that move from job to job and don't fit on a scheduled equipment form.

Explore coverage

Policy Review & Advocacy

As your dedicated agent, we review your current policies annually — finding exclusions, sublimits, and gaps before a claim does. Policy review is a core part of our service, not an upsell.

Why spray foam contractors switch to us

The coverage gaps that cost spray foam contractors the most.

Most agents hand a spray foam contractor a generic GL policy and call it done. Then an overspray claim, a chemical-exposure loss, or a stolen proportioner hits — and the exclusion kicks in. We underwrite the parts of your operation everyone else leaves out.

Run by people who know contracting

Contractors Choice Agency was founded in 2005 by Josh Cotner, who came from the trades. We understand what spray foam rigs cost, what isocyanate exposure looks like, and what happens when an overspray claim exceeds your GL limits.

GL that covers overspray and completed operations

Standard contractor GL under-limits overspray damage and excludes completed-operations claims. We place GL that covers the exposure spray foam jobs actually create.

Pollution liability for isocyanate exposure

Isocyanates are regulated chemicals — and most GL policies exclude them via the pollution exclusion. CPL covers the respiratory and chemical-release claims GL was never built to cover.

Inland marine that values your rig correctly

Your proportioner and heated hose aren't cheap to replace. We schedule rig equipment at replacement cost — not ACV — so a theft or damage claim pays what it actually costs to get back to work.

WC with class codes built for spray foam labor

Wrong class codes mean overpayment or undercoverage and audit surprises. We assign codes to your actual crew — applicators, helpers, drivers — so the premium and coverage are right.

We place the hard spray foam risks

Been declined over chemical exposure, a loss run, or an overspray claim? We have E&S markets for spray foam contractors others won't touch.

How it works

From quote request to bound policy in about a day.

No generic quote forms. A real conversation with an agent who knows spray foam — real markets, real coverage, and a program you can actually rely on.

Step 01

Tell us about your operation

15-min call or form. Crew size, rig and equipment value, types of jobs, states you work in, and the coverage lines your old policy excluded.

Step 02

We shop specialty contractor markets

Niche markets that actually write spray foam GL, CPL, and inland marine — not generic contractor markets that carve out chemical exposure and rig coverage.

Step 03

Bind a program built for spray foam

GL + WC + inland marine + CPL + auto, coordinated so there are no gaps across your operation — and we review it with you line by line.

Step 04

Claims support and annual review

When a claim arrives, you reach a person with context — not a queue. 2-hour response. And we review your policy every year so gaps don't carry forward.

From spray foam contractors

Contractors who found coverage that actually pays.

Every other agent gave me a generic contractor quote and called it done. My spray foam agent actually understood overspray claims, isocyanate exclusions, and why my rig needed separate inland marine. The policy he built is the first one I actually trust.

Marcus T.

Owner / Applicator · Texas

I'd been declined twice for GL because of the chemical exposure. My agent found a specialty market that understood spray foam, documented our safety protocols, and placed a real program — not a stripped-down policy with a pollution exclusion that kills every claim.

Denise R.

Operations Manager · Florida

The policy review caught three gaps I'd been carrying for two years — no completed-operations tail, ACV on my proportioner, and no hired auto. Fixed all three before renewal. That's what a real agent does.

Questions, answered

Spray foam contractor insurance, in plain English.

A spray foam contractor typically needs general liability (with completed operations), workers' compensation, inland marine for the rig and equipment, contractors pollution liability (CPL) for isocyanate exposure, commercial auto for the truck hauling the rig, and a commercial umbrella above primary limits. Most contractors bundle these into one coordinated program.

It depends on crew size, revenue, rig and equipment value, types of jobs (residential vs. commercial vs. industrial), states worked in, and loss history. We quote your actual operation in about 15 minutes — never a generic estimate.

Two main reasons: chemical exposure (isocyanates trigger the pollution exclusion in standard GL) and completed-operations claims from overspray or foam failure. We have specialty markets that understand both exposures and write spray foam GL with the right coverage structure.

CPL covers bodily injury and property damage from chemical releases — including respiratory exposure to isocyanates during spray foam application. Because standard GL excludes pollution, CPL fills the gap for the chemical exposure that's inherent to spray foam work.

It can, but the structure matters. Overspray is a completed-operations exposure — meaning the claim arrives after the job is done. Your GL needs a completed-operations component, adequate limits, and no exclusions that carve out spray foam or adhesive damage.

Your proportioner (reactor), heated hose, spray guns, and drum heaters should be on a scheduled inland marine form — insured at replacement cost, not ACV. Transit coverage protects the rig in the truck or trailer. Breakdown coverage on the jobsite is an optional add-on.

The auto policy covers the truck hauling the rig — not the rig itself. The proportioner and equipment on the trailer need inland marine (equipment floater) coverage. Many contractors discover this gap only when a rig is stolen off a jobsite.

In most states, yes — WC is required once you have employees. Spray foam work is high-hazard: chemical and respiratory exposure, heights, and equipment injuries make proper WC essential. We assign class codes that fit spray foam labor, not generic construction codes.

Spray foam applicators typically fall under insulation installation codes, with separate codes for helpers, drivers, and office staff. Correct classification matters — wrong codes mean overpayment and audit surprises. We match codes to your actual crew roles.

Often yes. We have specialty and E&S markets for spray foam contractors with prior overspray, chemical-exposure, or equipment claims. Loss runs help us tell your story to underwriters, but a prior claim doesn't automatically mean a decline.

Most spray foam contractors carry $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate. Commercial and industrial jobs often require $2M per occurrence. We review your contract requirements and size limits to match — with umbrella above for large jobs.

Yes — a commercial umbrella drops down over your GL, auto, and employers' liability when a claim exceeds primary limits. It's especially important for spray foam contractors doing large commercial jobs where contract minimum limits are high.

They carry similar coverages but different risk profiles. Residential work has lower GL limits requirements but higher completed-operations frequency. Commercial and industrial work involves higher limits, more contractual requirements, and often more complex chemical-exposure situations.

Yes. Contractors Choice Agency is licensed in all 50 states and has markets for spray foam operations whether your work is in Texas, Florida, the Midwest, or anywhere in between.

Typically 15 minutes on a call. Larger programs or hard-to-place accounts may take a day or two, but we move fast and set expectations up front.

Crew size and payroll, annual revenue, rig and equipment list with values, types of jobs, states worked in, current coverage, and loss history. The more detail, the faster and more accurate the quote.

Yes — policy review is a core part of our service, not a selling technique. We look for exclusions, sublimits, coverage gaps, and class-code mismatches that could create uninsured exposure for your operation.

An agent represents carriers and places coverage directly. A broker shops multiple carriers on your behalf. As an independent agent, we work with multiple specialty markets — giving you the market access of a broker with the personal service of a dedicated agent.

Yes. We handle additional insured requests, certificate issuance, and endorsement changes — typically same-day for straightforward requests. General contractor and owner requirements are routine for us.

Usually yes. A coordinated program from one agent closes gaps between policies, simplifies certificate management, and is typically more cost-effective than separate policies from separate carriers. And one agent knows your full exposure picture at claim time.
